Gay-vertising “On the D.L.”

Ever wonder why you rarely see gay people in TV commercials?
Here, Current TV’s Bryan Safi pokes fun at how mainstream commercial advertising goes gay only if it’s (a) for a homophobic laugh, or (b) incredibly “on the D.L.”

“That’s Gay” is a recurring segment on Current TV’s weekly show infoMania. Host Bryan Safi explores gay issues and stereotypes in the media. For more  ”That’s Gay”, visit http://current.com/groups/thats-gay/.

Interesting how the gay ads are limited to gay-friendly channels. How is it ok to do that, but if, say, there were only “black” ads on segregated “black-friendly” channels, there would be public outrage? “Separate but equal” is and always has been a scam to perpetuate prejudice.
