		<description>I never really read that into the Claussen ad (After all, no one likes a soggy pickle)  I don&#039;t suppose there&#039;s a way to advertise pickles that isn&#039;t a bit phallic given their shape.  Claussen has a long history of advertising this &#039;crisp&#039; pickle in many ways, (none of which are particularly phallic, especially the ones that came out at the same time as this, where they snap the pickle in half).  I doubt they would want viewers to think of a pickle as phallic and then snap it in half in a tie in advertisement! 

My guess is the obvious phallic reference was unintentional.</description>
